Terms and Conditions

1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions set out the contractual obligations between 24/7 Trades Ltd (“the Company”, “we”, “us”, “our”) and the customer (“the Customer”, “you”, “your”). By engaging our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

3. Services Provided

24/7 Trades Ltd provides professional services including but not limited to:

  • Plumbing
  • Electrical work
  • Heating engineering
  • Gas engineering
  • Boiler installation
  • Roofing
  • Bathroom installation
  • Kitchen installation

We reserve the right to decline any work at our discretion.

4. Estimates, Charges, and Payment

4.1 Estimates & Variations

  • Any estimate provided is an approximation based on initial information and is subject to change depending on:
    • Time spent on-site due to unforeseen complexities.
    • Additional materials required beyond the original scope.
    • Access restrictions or delays outside our control.
  • If additional work or materials are required, we will inform the Customer before proceeding.

4.2 VAT & Pricing

  • All prices quoted are exclusive of VAT unless otherwise stated. VAT will be added at the prevailing rate on all invoices.
  • VAT registration details will be provided on request.

4.3 Payment Terms

  • Payment must be made in full immediately upon completion of work, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

4.4 Late Payment & Debt Collection

  • If payment is not received in full on the due date, the outstanding amount will:
    • Incur interest at 8% per annum plus the Bank of England base rate, as permitted under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.
    • Be subject to a fixed penalty of £40, £70, or £100 depending on the invoice amount (as per UK debt collection laws).
  • If the debt is referred to a debt collection agency, an additional 20% surcharge will be added.
  • If payment is still not made, legal proceedings will commence via the Small Claims Court, and all additional legal costs will be added to the debt.

4.5 Ownership of Supplied Parts

  • Retention of Title Clause: Any materials, parts, or equipment supplied by 24/7 Trades Ltd remain the property of the Company until full payment has been received.
  • Right to Remove Unpaid Goods: If payment is not made within the agreed timeframe, we reserve the right to enter the Customer’s property to reclaim unpaid materials, in accordance with UK law.
  • Liability for Unpaid Goods: If materials are used or installed before full payment, the Customer is still liable for the full cost.

5. Workmanship Guarantee

  • 12-Month Guarantee: We provide a 12-month guarantee on our workmanship. This covers faults arising from poor installation or defective workmanship.
  • Exclusions: The guarantee does not cover:
    • Issues caused by misuse, negligence, or third-party interference.
    • Unforeseen complications beyond our control (e.g., structural issues).
    • Drain unblocking and similar services.

6. Materials & Manufacturer’s Warranty

  • Third-Party Products: Any materials supplied or fitted by us come with the manufacturer’s warranty.
  • Faulty Parts: If a part is found to be faulty within 12 months of installation, the customer must contact the manufacturer directly for replacement or repair.
  • Exclusion of Liability: We accept no liability for defects in third-party products.

7. Cancellation & Refunds

7.1 Customer Cancellations

  • Same-Day Cancellations: If a confirmed booking is cancelled on the day of the scheduled appointment, the Customer will be charged a minimum cancellation fee equivalent to 1 hour of labour at the applicable rate for the job in hand.
  • No-Show Policy: If the Customer is not present at the agreed time of the booking and access to the property is not provided, the Customer will be charged a minimum fee equivalent to 1 hour of labour at the applicable rate for the job in hand.
  • Non-Refundable Deposits: Any deposit paid is strictly non-refundable unless otherwise agreed in writing.

7.2 Company Cancellations

  • We reserve the right to cancel work due to unforeseen circumstances, safety concerns, or non-compliance with our terms. In such cases, deposits will be refunded in full.

8. Customer Responsibilities

  • Property Access: You must provide access to the property at the agreed times. If access is not provided, a fee will apply.
  • Health & Safety: Any hazards (e.g., asbestos, faulty wiring) must be disclosed before work begins.

9. Liability & Limitations

  • Public Liability Insurance: We are insured up to £2 million for public liability.
  • No Liability for Indirect Losses: We shall not be liable for:
    • Loss of earnings, profits, or business due to delays.
    • Indirect or consequential damages.
  • Exclusion of Liability: Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.

10. Dispute Resolution

  • We aim to resolve disputes amicably. Please contact us in writing within 14 days of any issue.
  • If a resolution cannot be reached, disputes will be settled in the Small Claims Court (for claims under £10,000).

11. Governing Law & Amendments

  • These Terms and Conditions are governed by English law.
  • We reserve the right to update these terms at any time. Changes will be communicated in writing.
